OFA: In the library

Nikola is getting rusty.

But he has a good enough memory that despite the fact that it's been a good twenty years since he sat down at a piano, he's doing a fairly decent job of making his way through Au Claire de la Lune.

He doesn't play well, but he plays with great expression.

She nods. "I get that..." she murmurs.

"A common trait amongst people used to being hunted, I'm sure.

She cocks her head, with a little smile. "I've never been hunted."

[ps_you_look_hot]

"Really?" He cocks his head. "I was under the impression there were those in your world who don't like your kind very much. Was I wrong?"

[x_coriare]

"Not about that. I've been attacked, kidnapped, enslaved, and killed a few times, but never hunted. I don't like, as a rule, running."

And that much was true; she'd gotten word she was the target of the Purifiers' mission and had met them on their turf, rather than bring the rest of the school into it. "But no, you are completely right that there are people in my world who don't like us."

"You don't like running?" He grins. "I love it."

Of course, he prefers to be the one doing the chasing.

"At your trouble, or away from it?" she chuckles.

[ps_you_look_hot]

Still grinning. "At it, of course."

She only laughs, and shakes her head.

"You would be a good opponent. A bad enemy, but a good opponent."

"I like to think so."

"You like to think a lot of things. Doesn't make them true."

"Most of the things I think are true."

"Could test that. What are you thinking now?"

The conversation lightens her mood considerably; if this is how sex with Nikola always works, she'll have to try it more often. Raya doubts she'll get any disapproval from Nikola over that.

Not a bit of disapproval is forthcoming. "I'm thinking it's getting late, and despite the beautiful young woman in my bed, it would probably be a good idea to get some sleep at some point."

"Probably," she murmurs, putting her head back down. It's nice, that Nikola says she's beautiful. Not the first person she's heard it from, but still, it's good. "You should sleep."

[ps_you_look_hot]

Nikola chuckles. "When you get to be my age, sleep is a necessity that can't be ignored."

Which is, of course, completely untrue.

She gives a soft snort. "Sleep is a necessity ignored the world over all the damned time, old man," she murmurs, looking up.

He'll probably zap her for that, but she can't say she really minds.

"If it's ignored, then it's hardly a necessity, little girl," he says, and does zap her, softly for that.

She just laughs at the burst of electricity. "Sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day."

She won't remark that calling her 'little girl' makes him sound like a pervert.

Nikola snorts. "True. But if you don't go to sleep soon, you will start to annoy me, and that means getting kicked out of bed."
