OFA: Mistletoe gets *everywhere*

Nikola may not be as observant as James is, but he's by no means oblivious.

That said, he is kind of enthralled by this whole zombie project (that he's continued working on despite his argument with Owen. Damn it for being so fascinating). As such, he's completely failed to notice the sprig of mistletoe the Big Guy managed to put up in his lab.

When he finds out the creep in the room with the hair has been poking about in his lab, he'll probably be irate, but in the meantime...this could be fun?

Henry shakes his head, scrolling down the list until he hits something that makes his eyebrows shoot up.

"You want this?" he asks, dumbfounded. "You know I have to use military connections to get this."

"So difficult," Nikola agrees, having better luck with the straight face. "If it weren't for the incredibly rich cultural tradition of mistletoe, I'd never even get someone to touch me."

"Undoubtedly," Will says, biting his lip. "I could convince the Big Guy tha drunken naked singing is a better celebration of dark times. You'd probably get a little tactile stimulation from that."

Nikola smirks. "Well, if it's too difficult for you..."

"Don't strain your little doggy brain?" Henry jokes, taking a step closer. "I know learning 'sit, stay' was complicated, but surely you can order a few simple things over the telephone? Maybe Magnus should get a new dog? You've obviously learned the limit of your tricks?"

"Drunken naked singing on his part? I think I'll pass."

"I could," Nikola says, actually smiling this time. "But I wouldn't want to take away your livelihood."

Will spends a moment wondering who would actually end up naked, if drunk enough. "Other parties might be more interesting to you?"

"You're too kind," Henry mocks a groan. He's this close, which is enough, if he's quick. "I have to admit, your lists are at least neatly organised. Watson writes things down as they pop into his head and Magnus is always emailing me at the last minute with something she absolutely must have, right now."

Nikola gives him a long, slow once-over. "I can think of a few, yeah."

That'd be the OCD showing through.

OCD is frequently easier for computer guys to work with. They at least understand the importance of perfection. Henry gives him a 'she doesn't pay me enough for this, but what else would I do?' look. "I might get a server upgrade for Christmas," he shrugs. "Maybe."

The look makes him shiver. "Watson?" Will quips with a teasing look. "Henry? Raya or the lovely Agent Scully, though neither of them will be drinking. There's something to be said for group influence."

Nikola's right, this is much more fun than Will's office.

Helen lifts a brow, the smile on her face a bit lopsided. "Highly suspect," she muses in a tone laced with good humour. "I suspect you're up to no good," Helen pauses, eyes drifting upward toward the sprig of mistletoe overhead. "Or trying to avoid the holiday cheer and failing."

She points up as she steps closer, a mischievous look sparkling in her eyes. Without further explanation, Helen leans in, pressing her lips softly to his. "Merry Christmas, Nikola."

Raya just chuckles. "Apparently someone thought you needed it."

"Well, I suppose that might begin to make up for the long hours," Nikola says.

He can understand being willing to put up with a lot for new equipment.

Nikola leans back against his work surface, smirking slightly. "Any of those would be preferable, yes."

Or Will. Which he doesn't say, but which the look on his face probably does a good job of pointing out anyway.

Well, Nikola's not one to let an opportunity like this pass. In fact, this just might be enough to make him thank the Big Guy instead of berating him. His eyes flick briefly up to the mistletoe, and he sneaks an arm around her waist, returning the kiss.

"Mm, Merry Christmas indeed."

Nikola arches an eyebrow, leaning back with his arms spread. "Well? Are you going to take advantage of it or not?"

"Can't say I can picture you or Magnus--" Though, he has a distinct advantage when it comes to the imagination of Nikola. "I don't sing that well when I'm drunk."

"You could pass on the singing," Nikola says. "Drunken nakedness is more than fine."

She gives him a considering look before standing up and coming close enough that kissing him is very possible. "I might."

Raya does, though, and presses a not entirely chaste kiss to his lips.

Nikola returns the kiss in the spirit it was given, his hands resting briefly on Raya's hips.

"You haven't had enough of that?" Will jokes at his own expense. "Frquently one does lead to the other."

Raya takes hold of his hands and pulls back just enough to speak. "If you want to go much further than this I think we'd need something other than mistletoe."
