OFA: In the library

Nikola is getting rusty.

But he has a good enough memory that despite the fact that it's been a good twenty years since he sat down at a piano, he's doing a fairly decent job of making his way through Au Claire de la Lune.

He doesn't play well, but he plays with great expression.

Nikola glances up at him, still playing. "I'm out of practice."

"Understandable, it has to have been what? Twenty-twenty two years since you've played?"

"Give or take a few," Nikola says with a smile. "So hard to keep track anymore."

"Mmm indeed." He is somewhat tempted to take a crack at the instrument, himself.

Nikola finishes his song with a flourish. "You still play, don't you?"

"My violin, and the guitar, yes. But it has been a while since I sat in front of a piano."

"Really? What made you give it up?"

James shrugs, and lightly trails his fingers over a few keys.
"I'm not quite sure, it was a mixture of too many memories of old friends and I at the bench, and my research eating up all of my free-time."

Nikola slides over on the bench. "Care to pick it up again?"

He slides next to his old friend, and soon the first haunting notes of the Moonlight sonata can be heard.

Nikola joins in after a moment, stumbling a little at first as he tries to remember the piece.

Soon they can be heard playing, somewhat in unison. James far excels him in mastery of the piece, but they play well together nonetheless.
