[One for All] Nocturnal wanderings

The Sanctuary is a lovely place, really. Libraries and labs and gardens and excellent company.

But sometimes Nikola needs a little space. Or just to unwind for a bit.

So tonight, you'll find him sitting in a corner booth at a local bar, expensive scotch in hand, observing the room.

"I'm not questioning that," Nikola says. "I'm sure you enjoyed yourself very much."

Satisfied, he smiles. "I used to ride my buddies horse on the weekends when I wasn't visiting with my Aunt and Uncles."

"You look like an equestrian. You've got a great seat," Nikola says in a way that could be entirely innocent or entirely not.

Shrugging, Leo replies. "Eh one of my favorite Aunts is a prize horse breeder, so it kind of came with the territory."

Nikola shakes his head and mutters into his scotch, "What is it with this city and oblivious men?"

Noting that Nick has resorted to talking into his drink Leo bends over the bar, "You want a refill man? Or do you want some of this?" He gestures to the bottle of Ouzo that is currently cradled within his large left hand.

"Somehow," he says with a sarcastic smile, "I don't think that's going to help."

"Led liver?" Leo asks with a cute dimple filled smile, that is anything but mocking.

The dimpled smile is not helping things at all.

"Something like that, yes."

"Huh I know the feeling, way to hard to get a proper buzz with all the week stuff they've been coming out with lately."

Okay, that is an intriguing statement.

"It was hard enough before they started coming out with all this weak stuff."

He disagrees, "Hey man there's a reason all the good old-fashioned drinks are illegal,they aren't weak."

"My liver and I respectfully disagree," Nikola says, and knocks back his scotch.

Leo has no doubt he could out drink this guy with out even trying.
"Hey man don't get me wrong, it takes practically a legion of untapped barrels to get me even a little loopy." He too knocks back the last half of his Ouzo in one practiced chug.

Nikola shrugs. "I'm sure that's very impressive. Personally, I've given up on even trying."

Leo snorts, and shrugs his muscled shoulders-the fabric stretching to accommodate the strong, almost linear frame.

Nikola rolls his eyes and sets down his glass.

"I'll be frank, Leo. We can sit here having a pissing contest about who could potentially outdrink whom, or you can tell me when you get off, and we can meet up later for a much more pleasant interlude."

Like a deer caught in the headlights Leo tries to go over the nights events, and slaps a hand to his face; all of those predatory smiles, the licking of the lips, flirty smiles- they were all for his benefit...crap.

Nikola nods. "I'll take that as a no, then."

"Eh sorry dude, not my kind of thing. But if you want I'm always up for a drink." He doesn't show it, but he is really quite flattered by the offer.

Nikola slides off his stool. "You know, I'm really not looking for a drinking buddy, strangely enough."

"Hey didn't mean to offend, and if you're looking for a good time I know a few people who would be really into the idea."

He offers another friendly smile,and brings out the Scotch again, "It's on the house, if you want?"

"Thanks, but no. I prefer to find my own fun," Nikola says.

"And I'm really not looking for a drinking buddy."


He doesn't exactly do the whole 'friends' thing.

He shrugs feeling kind of bad, he knows Nikola is drifting way; so he replies with a contrite to the the point apology. " I'm sorry, how can I make it up to you?"

Nikola shrugs. "It's fine. I made a pass, you weren't interested. It happens." Not often, but it does.
