Nikola is getting rusty.

But he has a good enough memory that despite the fact that it's been a good twenty years since he sat down at a piano, he's doing a fairly decent job of making his way through Au Claire de la Lune.

He doesn't play well, but he plays with great expression.

It's more than okay, and Nikola is quite pleased to be a little rough. He rolls his hips against Will's, dragging his fingers slowly down Will's chest, trailing a soft current as they go.

It tickles. Like his whole body just woke up from behind asleep. Will raises his hand to Nikola's shoulders, digging into the flesh before realizing he can feel the current in Nikola's hair.

There's a small spark when Nikola's fingers reach Will's belt buckle, and Nikola groans softly at that, as his fingers quickly work the belt open.

Will's jeans follow quickly afterwards. He feels exposed and entirely vulnerable beneath Nikola's hands. For a moment, it flashes through his head that yes, he could die, right now.

He sits up, kissing the side of Nikola's neck and lets the fear wash over him.

Nikola catches a whiff of something coming off Will and turns his head, burying his nose in Will's neck for just a moment.

When he pulls back, he's laughing. "Christ, you're still afraid of me."

Will flushes and the heat runs all the way down his neck. Apologizing will make him sound like an idiot. "I've never been nearly naked with a part-vampire before. It doesn't mean I don't find you--" He blushes again. "There's a lot of this that's really new to me. I've never been afraid. I've never wanted to be afraid. I haven't wanted to surrender."

"But you want to now," Nikola says, his hand resting over Will's heart to feel it racing. "How does it feel?"

He's never wanted that, never even experienced it really. Not that he can remember.

"Naked," Will laughs and tries to be more specific. "Safe, sort of. Out of everything in the world, right now you're what I'm most afraid of and I want to give in and see what you'll do to me."

"I'm what you're most afraid of?" He pushes Will back onto the bed and sits back on his haunches, dragging one cool finger slowly down Will's chest. "With all the monsters in the world, you're most afraid of me?"

"I want you," Will admits, watching the finger move down his skin. "You're inherently dangerous and I want you. All the monsters in the world don't smell like or kiss the way you do."

"Death is simple. You're not."

He chuckles again. "That much, at least, is true." He bends low again and presses a kiss to the center of Will's chest, letting his hands settle at Will's hips, thumbs sliding over his hipbones.

Fear heightens his arousal. He's never been that way before and in the back of his mind, the psychiatrist finds it fascinating. The rest of him can only think of the weight of Nikola and the heat of his skin.

Will looks up at the ceiling for a moment, letting his breath quicken. "I suppose it's been a long time since you've been afraid."

"A very long time," Nikola agrees, his lips moving further down Will's chest, fingers hooking into the waistband of his boxers. He lets his teeth catch on Will's skin, just a little.

Will bits his lip, keeping himself from gasping. "Do you ever miss it?"

"The fear?" He laughs, breath ghosting over Will's skin. "Hardly." There's a faint current in his lips as he slides them around Will's navel, his tongue flicking out against it.

Will bites his lip and barely manages to keep from jumping. Barely. "Ticklish," he explains pathetically. After a moment, it passes, leaving him with a different desperation.

"I suppose there's nothing for you to be afraid of," he says, stumbling a little on his words.

"Not really, no," Nikola murmurs as he starts to tug Will's boxers down his thighs.

Will sits up, reaching for the back of Nikola's head and digging his fingers into his hair. He feels incredibly vulnerable, and it's not just being exposed. Hell, he's not sure what it is.

Nikola laughs as he pulls Will's shorts down and off. "If I didn't know better, I'd say you were almost eager."

"You're hot,' Will says quickly, then raises his eyebrows. "I think I'm allowed a certain amount of enthusiasm.

"You're allowed as much enthusiasm as you like," Nikola says, pulling back to get a good look at Will now that he's naked. "I just wasn't quite expecting it."

Will looks up at the ceiling, then back down at Nikola's dark, consuming eyes. "I don't think I was either."

Nikola grins at that. "It's a little frightening, isn't it?" he murmurs, his hands sliding slowly up Will's thighs. "Feeling the intensity of unexpected desire?"

It's how he'd felt the first time he'd actually been with someone, the Source magnifying any latent feelings he may have had before.

Will's acutely, even painfully aware of Nikola's touch, and yes, it is more than a little frightening.

He didn't think he even wanted this, the idea that he could want it so much--

"Yes," he whispers.

Nikola's grin, if possible, deepens, and he leans down again, stretching his body out over Will's and kissing him deeply.
