OFA: In the library

Nikola is getting rusty.

But he has a good enough memory that despite the fact that it's been a good twenty years since he sat down at a piano, he's doing a fairly decent job of making his way through Au Claire de la Lune.

He doesn't play well, but he plays with great expression.

He could surrender, but he'd rather go down fighting. Nikola's shirt is softer than Will expected and he's acutely aware of the wrinkle touching his palm and the fact that the tiniest bit of pressure will put him in contact with the flesh beneath.

Nikola's slow, steady pulse, Will's seem that much louder as it races in his ears.

Nikola just watches him, his gaze steady, waiting for that bit of pressure to come. The race of Will's pulse has his own speeding gradually.

To Will's surprise, his fingers don't tremble. In fact, they seem to connect with Nikola as if drawn with a magnet. It could be entirely unsexual, just a random connection.

But it's not. Goosebumps break out along Will's arms.

Nikola's eyes slide lazily from Will's face to his hand and back slowly, taking note of the goosebumps. His own cool fingers move to trail up Will's forearm.

Moving would break the spell, and there's nowhere else Will would rather be. Nikola's fingers feel ghostly against his skin, and his shiver turns into a tiny sigh.

"We've been through this bit before, William," Nikola says quietly, his voice low and even. "Will it go differently this time?"

Nikola deserves better than an excuse. "I fucked up," he begins. "Anything between you and me should be just about us. Bring Magnus into it-" he pauses and a really terrible, yet, fascinating thought passes through his mind.

"I haven't been attracted to a man before. Not enough, not like this, and I was grasping at straws."

"Does it frighten you?" Nikola asks, his hand sliding up further. "Being attracted to me?"

"Yes," Will says simply. Licking his lips doesn't help because his mouth is suddenly dry. "I tried to convince myself I was in control when I was anything but."

His hand rests on Will's shoulder. "What exactly couldn't you control?"

"Myself." He's always tried to do things by the book. Stable, heathy relationships that usually fall apart because he can't reconcile his nightmares. Desperate sexual wanting doesn't usually factor in.

"Wanting something just leads to disappointment, doesn't it?"

"Not always," Nikola murmurs. His tongue flicks out over his lips as his fingers slide up Will's neck.

Will wonders if he'd feel this alive seconds before he was about to die, and decides that thus far, this is as close as he'll get. His other hand moves up to rest on Nikola's hip.

"Oh?" he stammers.

There's the tiniest hint of electricity in the fingers sliding over the back of Will's neck.

"Sometimes when you get what you want, it exceeds all expectations."

Will, who usually notices everything, is entirely lost in Nikola. As if the other man has become his whole universe. His hands slide up a few centimeters at a time.

"The ultimate loss of control," he sighs. "Getting exactly what you want."

"One way of putting it, I suppose," Nikola murmurs, and while he's still noticing things around him, he has a way of making someone feel as though they're his whole universe, even if just for the moment.

His right hand leaves Nikola's waist and catches his arm, tentatively, as if their going to lose the moment. He also can't help feeling like it's not his place. One does not seduce Nikola, one is seduced.

And he is. His mouth is dry and he keeps wanting to lick his lips.

If he stays still long enough, Nikola will lick them for him. He leans in and kisses Will briefly, just a quick press of lips.

That hint of electricity is there, like he's been collecting static. Will gasps, almost inaudibly, then leans forward to return the kiss. Taking significantly more time, he tightens his grip on Nikola's arm.

Nikola smiles against his lips, something dark and deeply satisfied in it. His tongue flicks out over Will's lips.

Will leans into the kiss, chest nearly touching Nikola's. He can feel Nikola's tongue brush his mouth and he shivers deliciously. He's not cold in the slightest.

Parting his lips, Will digs his fingers into Nikola's shirt.

Nikola takes that as an invitation and licks into Will's mouth, his fingers slowly siding into Will's hair, rubbing against his scalp.

Nikola's fingers send tiny shocks through his skull. He might be imagining it, but he doesn't care. Will kisses him back, eagerly welcoming his tongue and reaching up to grab his shoulder and pull him closer.

Nikola presses against him, one arm curling around Will's waist, keeping him in place.

Will raises his other hand to the back of Nikola's head, tasting him as they forget about breathing. It's been awhile since he kissed anyone, and Will's not sure if he's ever kissed anyone with this kind of abandon. He almost feels like he's doing something wrong, and that makes it that much better.
